Kelly Terry, PsyD

Hi, I’m Kelly. I’m so glad you’ve found your way here!

I hold a master’s and doctorate in clinical psychology and feel priviliged to be a psychologist. I hold my clients’ vulnerability thoughtfully and seriously and am honored to walk with them through painful or previously avoided feelings in order to come out the other side with more intention, steadiness, and freedom of choice in their lives.

I am a relational and psychodynamic therapist, though I integrate other theories and interventions as appropriate for each individual’s unique needs and wants. Therapy with me is within a context of cultural responsiveness and trauma-informed considerations, prioritizing the emotional safety and unique qualities of each person I get to know. I specialize in working with adults who want to live with greater emotional freedom, clarity, and connection. I have extensive training and experience in working with trauma, anxiety, family conflict, life transitions, and relationships (with self and others).

I have worked in higher education counseling centers and community mental health clinics, obtaining specialized training in working with marginalized populations and trauma and helping people bravely and vulnerably face their emotional experiences to create lives they once thought were out of reach. Prior to my career in psychology, I pursued a path in international development - spending time in the Middle East, Latin America, and Eastern Europe. These experiences engrained in me a deep appreciation for language, cross-cultural communication, the value of listening closely, and the beauty of human to human connection. These values remain a part of my being as a psychologist today.
